Maurice Sweeney for Kentucky is fighting for the taxpayers of District 36 to help ensure that we see a return on our investment.  I believe you should be able to see the benefits by better infrastructure that includes being able to see passing lanes, shoulders on roads, traffic lights or reduced speeding zones, new schools and recreation facilities.

I’m running as a senior citizen of District 36. My family has farmed District 36 since 1947 and I have lived here almost my entire life. I have worked in Frankfort with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) and I know how the system works for the few, rather than the many. I want Frankfort to work for all Kentuckians including the residents of our district.

Moving “Beyond Conversation”, means taking action to bring about positive change that mere conversation cannot do. Feel-good slogans and world class meetings are meaningless unless positive change takes place; Ralph Waldo Emerson put it this way, “To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived - that is to have succeeded”.

I believe in the separation of church and state, but nothing will separate me from my faith! To that end, Jesus spent more time talking of justice than anything else. As did his father: Amos 5:21-24, Jeremiah 22: 13-17. Any policy that encroaches on the quest for equality and justice is a policy that I will not support.
